Walker On ‘Water Conservation,’ Next Garden Club Meeting
The Garden Club of Newtown will host Randy Walker, president of Pootatuck Watershed Association, on Tuesday, May 28, at 1 pm.
The club meets in the meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street in Newtown.
Walker will share what the association is doing to raise awareness of water quality and supply issues. PWA advocates for sustainable land-use practices and supports groups such as Newtown Forest Association, Protect Our Pollinators, and the commissions of the Town of Newtown charged with protecting land and water resources.
Moving to Connecticut in 1981 from Texas, Walker has a long personal history working with several supply chain roles in the development of water supplies. He retired in 2020 as the director of purchasing for Aquarion Water Company.
The meeting is open to the public, free of charge.
