Theresa Villafano and Philip Ullrich

Linda and Joseph Villafano of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Theresa Marie Villafano, also of Newtown, to Philip George Ullrich of Newtown, son of Charles Ullrich of Newtown and Jayne Ficken of Davenport, Neb.

Philip proposed to Theresa on Sunday, April 25, while the couple was in Tokyo, Japan.

Theresa, a 2005 graduate of Newtown High School, is studying for her master’s of marriage and family therapy.

Philip, a 2003 graduate of Newtown High School, is physical plant director at The Hearth at Southbury.
