Serock A Tennis Ace

GENEVA, N.Y. — William Smith College sophomore Katie Serock of Newtown was honored at the annual William Smith Athletics Awards Banquet on April 27. Serock received the Elizabeth Laird Redway Heia ’84 Tennis Coach’s Award.

After playing seven singles matches (3-4) and two doubles matches (1-1) last season, Serock moved into the starting lineup this year. She worked hard in the off-season to earn a spot on the Herons’ third doubles team, alongside first-year player Remy Raevsky. Together, the tandem earned a team-best 11-3 record, including an 8-3 mark at No. 3, and a 3-0 mark at No. 2. Serock also posted a 4-1 singles record this season.

The William Smith tennis team finished with a 13-6 overall record and placed fourth in the Liberty League Tournament.
