Music could be heard from the Newtown Middle School as the students in Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Group, and student recitals entertained audiences while parents and students walked the hallways of the school, pointing out art work and other projects, during the NMS Celebration of the Arts on Tuesday, May 4.
In the schoolâs cafeteria, the NMS Interact club sold baked goods, including brownies and scones, to raise funds to fight childhood hunger in America through Share Our Strengthâs Great American Bake Sale program.
Computer technology teacher Tina Welsh stood outside her classroom demonstrating presentations students created during the school year for the computer technology course.
In technology education teacher Don Ramseyâs classroom students and parents got a taste of what being in the course would be like, by testing some of the objects in the room, like the steam-powered locomotive model.
Art Enrichment students also drew in the hallways to demonstrate their techniques. Video from the night is available at www.newtownbee.com.
