Get The Budget Passed

To the Editor:

On Monday I attended the Board of Education question and answer forum.

I appreciated that the board took time to meet with so many concerned citizens to answer their many questions. That is exactly what we are... concerned, at least I am.

It is deplorable that such a small percentage of people voted during the last referendum. And although there seems to be some division within the board and the community about how to vote, I am choosing to support the current budget for many reasons. I lament that some programs and some positions will be cut, but we are not alone.

I work for a school in New Milford and we are experiencing the same situation. In this economy, we need to take what we can. By supporting the budget we can be assured that no further cuts will occur and then the boards can finalize the areas that will be impacted.

Please get out and vote next week. Your voice needs to be heard. Let’s get this budget passed!
