Newtown Hikers Schedule Work On Al’s Trail

Members of the Newtown Hikers Club will be out on Sunday, May 16, working on the nine-mile continuous trail in Newtown known as Al’s Trail.

Trail workers are asked to meet at the Edmond Town Hall rear parking lot on Sunday at 10 am, and they will carpool to the work point.

They are asked to bring gloves, clippers, pruners, sharp pointed shovels, machetes, hammers and two-inch nails, plastic garbage bags (heavyweight), white or light colored rag strips one inch wide by one foot long (to mark trails), bottled water, and snacks. They should wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts, hats, and hiking boots.
