Joe Proc On Next

‘Dolly Curtis Interviews…’

The next episode of ‘Dolly Curtis Interviews...’ will feature the Newtown-based musician Joe Proc.

Mr Proc has been playing the guitar and giving guitar lessons since high school. Now many years later he has a backlog of students who visit his music studio most weekdays. On the weekends, Mr Proc can be found at many of the local restaurants singing his original music and the well-known songs of the 60s and 70s. He performs shows as a solo musician or with the band Off The Hook.

A self-made person with a passion for collecting acoustic and electric guitars, Mr Proc will also discuss with Ms Curtiss his talents in repairing all string instruments. In his small workshop, there is a menagerie of string instruments waiting to be repaired.

“There are few individuals in our area who have the patience and the skill to repair string instruments as well as electric amplifiers,” says Ms Curtis. “Joe does all of these things naturally and shows the audience a sample of his expertise in this week’s program.”

In Monroe, Newtown and surrounding towns using Charter Communications the show will air on Mondays, May 17 and 24, at 3:30 pm, and Wednesdays, May 19 and 26, at 8 pm. A copy of the video Dolly Curtis Interviews… Joe Proc: Musician, Lutherie and Performer will be available at Easton and C.H. Booth public libraries shortly after the program is broadcase.

The program is taped and edited by Victor Cromwell of Norwalk, a retired cameraman for CBS. Dolly Curtis is the producer and host. The production facilities are provided by CableVision Connecticut as part of its public access programming.
