Samantha Lauren Lerman, the daughter of Kenneth and Laura E. Lerman of Newtown, was married to Dr David Bruce Bernstein, a son of Dr Ralph and Trudy Bernstein of Suffern, N.Y., and Aventura, Fla., on October 29. Rabbi Bernard Schecter officiated at The Heritage Inn in Southbury.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory silk satin, empire-waisted Priscilla of Boston gown with a chapel train. It was trimmed at the neckline with blushette porcelain roses. She wore a fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of Oceana garden roses accented with sumac and freesia.
The maid of honor was Kim Carey of Boston. The bridesmaids were Sarah Appleyard of Washington, D.C., Dana Schwartz of Ridgefield, and Stephanie Hays of Newtown. They wore gunmetal gray taffeta ballroom style skirts with pearl gray cashmere sweaters with jewel necklines. They carried bouquets of Oceanna garden roses.
The best man was Paul Bernstein of Suffern, N.Y., brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Alexander Lerman of Newtown, brother of the bride, Dr John Keating of Boston, and Jason Levine of New York City.
Erica and Jamie Bernstein, nieces of the groom, were flower girls.
Mrs Bernstein is a graduate of Wooster School and the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colo., where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology. This month she will receive a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Simmons College in Boston, where she is a Dix Scholar. In July she is to join the staff at Norwalk Hospital.
Dr Bernstein graduated from The Frisch School in Paramus, N.J., and received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. He received his MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Currently he is chief resident in anesthesia and critical care at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. In July he is to join an anesthesiology group in Greenwich.
After a honeymoon trip to the Caribbean, they are living in Boston.
