Newtown High School’s girls’ track and field team stayed unbeaten with a trio of wins in a meet at Weston on May 12, and the boys defeated two of three opponents in a visit to Stratford the day before.

Girls Win Three

The Nighthawk girls defeated Stratford 138.5 to 11.5, Immaculate of Danbury 133-17, and Weston 98.5 to 51.5. Top Newtown finishers are as follows:

4x800 Meter Relay: 1. Erin Tressler, Emma Bayuk, Camryn Cicarelli, Jess Keller 10:39.6.

Boys Win Two

Newtown’s boys’ team defeated Stratford 77-71 and Immaculate of Danbury 100-41, and lost 97-53 to Weston. Newtown highlights are as follows:

100 Dash: Cole Terry 11.6 (SWCs), Cormac Roe 11.8, Gus Porto 11.8.

4x100: Jerman Anyoha, Will Roman, Matt  Kretz, and Jack Lavelle 48.02.
