Family Fun Night: On Saturday, May 14, from 4 to 7 pm, you and your family are invited to join us at Newtown Youth Academy for three hours of laughter and fun!

Family Fun Night offers fun activities for all interests and age groups: sport activities, pasta dinner, organized games, bouncy house, obstacle course, DJ fun, dancing, soccer, basketball, face painting, cheerleading, raffles, auctions and more.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children if purchased or reserved in advance, or $10 and $8, respectively, at the door. There are a limited number of tickets available, so please contact Cynthia McIntyre at 203-364-1592 to purchase or reserve them.

NYA is within Fairfield Hills, at 4 Primrose Street.

 

Performance Quality Improvement

PQI Meeting: In our effort to create quality programs responsive to community needs, Newtown Youth & Family Services invites all interested members of the community to the monthly PQI (Performance Quality Improvement) meetings.

The next meeting will be held Monday, May 23, from noon to 2 pm.

 

Family Programs:

Parenting Education Program (PEP) Putting Children First is a State of Connecticut program required as a prerequisite to granting a divorce. Sessions are designed to help families cope with the effects of divorce on children.

Call Sheila at NYFS for more information including scheduling.

Youth Programs

NYFS Job Bank is accepting applications from qualified 13-18 year olds in Newtown who want employment babysitting, pet sitting, mowing lawns, shoveling, or performing other household chores.

Call Monday through Friday between 3 and 5 pm for an application.

Support Groups

Circle of Parents: This mutual self-help support program for parents is based on a simple and time tested model: through peer-to-peer leadership and support at meetings, people in a parenting capacity, can over time, gain self-esteem, overcome isolation and improve their parenting skills by exchanging support and positive parenting suggestions.
