South Main Accident
Motorist Christine Anthony, 38, of 15 Maltbie Road, who was driving a 2010 GMC Acadia SUV northward on South Main Street about 12:04 pm on May 2, stopped in preparing to make a left turn onto Bryan Lane, police said.
Northbound motorist Joan Polzin, 66, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2009 Toyota Camry sedan, then struck the rear end of the GMC, but continued traveling, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said they found Polzin in a parking lot at 89 South Main Street about 1.7 miles north of the accident scene. Police charged Polzin with evading responsibility and with following too closely. Police released her on $50 bail for a May 17 court appearance.
Three Vehicles
A three-vehicle accident occurred near 52 Church Hill Road about 5:11 pm on May 4. All vehicles involved in the crash were headed eastward.
Motorist John Cedor, 53, of 25 Moccasin Trail, who was driving a 2009 Pontiac G-6 coupe, had stopped for traffic conditions, after which motorist Brittany Sequeira, 21, of New Milford, who was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata sedan, stopped behind the Pontiac, police said.
Motorist Kaitlin Brophy, 18, of 20 Boggs Hill Road, who was driving a 1984 Jeep Wrangler, then struck the rear end of the Hyundai, pushing the Hyundai into the rear end of the Pontiac, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Brophy an infraction on charges of failure to drive a reasonable distance apart and traveling unreasonably fast.
Berkshire Road
Police report an accident that occurred near 87 Berkshire Road about 5 pm on May 4.
Eastbound motorist Michael Cataudella, 54, of Shelton, who was driving a 2003 Dodge Intrepid sedan, attempted to pass on the left eastbound motorist Jesse Carney, 78, of Danbury, who was driving a 2005 Kia Sedona station wagon, as the Kia was attempting to make a left turn, resulting in a collision, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Cataudella a written warning for passing in a no-passing zone.
