Reminder: NHS Black Box Theater Production Is This Weekend
Newtown High Schoolâs upcoming Black Box Theater Production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood will be shown in the high schoolâs auditorium from May 12 to 15.
The production has a student director, senior Brenna Calderara, and NHS Choral Director Jane Matson is directing the musical numbers. Senior Gabby Milano is the productionâs stage manager.
The Mystery of Edwin Drood was named for its inspiration, the last known and unfinished work by Charles Dickens. Rupert Homes wrote the script for the play, and crafted the unwritten ending of the book and play to be finished by the audience members.
Ms Matson explained audience members attending the performances of NHSâs The Mystery of Edwin Drood will decide which characters will fall in love, how the plotâs mystery ends, and more. Once the audience decides, the cast members will perform the remainder of the play to the audienceâs liking.
Tickets for the show are $10. The Mystery of Edwin Drood will be shown at 7:30 pm Thursday, May 12, Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14. The show will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, May 15, for its final staging.
