Junior Golf Applications Available For Charity Golf Classic

High School students from all over the state have the opportunity to play golf and win a scholarship by participating in The Kennedy Center 20th Annual Charity Golf Classic.

Selection is based on academic achievement, school and community leadership, and golf proficiency. Since its inception, more than 400 junior golfers have received more than $190,000 in scholarship money, due to the ongoing commitment of the Ahlbin family.

This unique tournament, the only one of its kind in Connecticut, features top junior golfers throughout the state, who are teamed with an adult foursome. Junior golfers, aged 15 through 18, are eligible to play free of charge in the 18-hole tournament. In addition, each junior golfer receives an academic scholarship from the Fred and Fran Junior Golf Scholarship Fund.

This year’s Classic will be held Monday, June 27, at Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 20.

Junior golf applications may be obtained by contacting The Kennedy Center at 203-365-8522, extension 216 or visiting www.thekennedycenterinc.org.
