Dr Murphy To Discuss The State Of Health Care
REDDING â On Monday, May 23 at 5 pm, at Meadow Ridge on Route 107, Dr John Murphy, president/CEO of Western Connecticut Healthcare, will provide a lecture on the state of health care with an emphasis on the affects for residents of Connecticut. Dr Murphy is a Newtown resident.
He will discuss the many issues and concerns relating to the state and national legislative initiatives. His talk will highlight the changes hospitals must make in regard to serving patients, finances, and collaboration with physicians, rehab centers, and other pre- and postcare resources.Â
Dr Murphy will also provide information on some of the steps Western Connecticut Healthcare is taking to prepare for the future to assure patients will continue to receive the highest level of care.
He took over the helm of Western Connecticut Healthcare at the inception of the affiliation on October 1, 2010. He is a board-certified neurologist who has served Danbury Hospital in a number of capacities, including two decades on the medical staff, three years as president of the medical staff and 15 years on the board of directors.Â
Dr Murphy was the chairman of the board for four years before joining the hospital administration as executive vice president and chief executive officer.
