Charity Golf Classic For High Schoolers
Charity Golf Classic For High Schoolers
High School students from all over the state may apply to participate in The Kennedy Center 20th Annual Charity Golf Classic. Selection is based on academic achievement, school and community leadership, and golf proficiency.
This yearâs Classic will be held on Monday, June 27, at Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk. Come show how well you can drive, chip and putt at one of the most picturesque golf courses overlooking Long Island Sound. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 20.
Since its inception, more than 400 junior golfers have received over $190,000 in scholarship money, due to the ongoing commitment of the Ahlbin family.
This tournament, the only one of its kind in Connecticut, features top junior golfers throughout the state, who are teamed with an adult foursome.
Junior golfers, ages 15-18, are eligible to play free of charge in the 18-hole tournament. In addition, each junior golfer receives an academic scholarship from the Fred and Fran Junior Golf Scholarship Fund.
Junior golf applications may be obtained by contacting The Kennedy Center via phone at 203-365-8522, extension 216, or online by visiting www.thekennedycenterinc.org.
