Botsford DUI

Police said they responded to a one-vehicle accident near 24 Botsford Hill Road about 12:23 am on May 12.

Police said motorist Guy Peregrin, 60, of Avon was driving a vehicle that collided with an embankment.

After investigating, police charged Peregrin with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn. Peregrin was released on $100 bail for a May 26 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Christopher Mahoney, 44, of Torrington went to the police station about 5 pm May 11 and was charged with violation of probation, police report.

The original charges lodged by police against Mahoney in 2009 were third-degree assault, assault on a police officer, and third-degree criminal mischief, police said.

Police released Mahoney on $50,000 bail for a May 25 court appearance.
