Newtown High School’s girls’ tennis team defeated visiting Notre Dame-Fairfield 5-2 on May 3 and won another home match, 5-2 over New Milford on May 6 before concluding the regular season with a 5-2 loss to visiting Masuk of Monroe on May 7.

Against Notre Dame No. 3 singles player Jamie Rowan and No. 4 Katie Jarvis both won 6-0, 6-0. The top doubles tandem of Margaret Donovan/Ella Morits won 6-1, 6-0; the No. 2 team of Rebecca Goldman/Caleigh Ward prevailed 6-0, 6-1; and the No. 3 duo of Emma Lyddy/Maria Souza won via forfeit.

In the New Milford match No. 2 Eren Weiss won 6-1, 6-1; No. 3 Rowan won 6-2, 6-2; and No. 4 Jarvis won 6-3, 7-6. In doubles action the top tandem of Morits/Eli Musen came out on top 6-4, 7-5 and the No. 3 tandem of Emma Lyddy/Souza won 6-0, 6-0.
