Joseph Daniel Troy, 79, of Ridgefield, husband of Agnes (Monti) Troy, died May 9 at Westchester County Medical Center, Valhalla, N.Y. He was born in Stamford, August 10, 1934, the son of Helen (Burns) and Daniel J. Troy.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, four daughters and husbands, Margaret and Scott Larsen of Newtown, Linda Troy and Eric Worth of Barefoot Bay, Fla., Deborah Bamonte of Litchfield Park, Ariz., and Maryellen and Chris Hall of Ridgefield; a sister, Marguerite Philips, and her husband Theodore, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter survive Mr Troy. In addition to his parents, a brother, Daniel Joseph Troy, predeceased him.

In early years, Mr Troy owned and operated his own delivery business until he became a serviceman with the former Hartford Electric Light Company, which then became CL&P, Yankee Gas, and then Northeast Utilities. He retired in 1994 after 37 years with the utilities.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1963, he was a member of the Ridgefield Senior Men’s Golf League, Founders Hall, and St Mary Parish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 13, at 10:15 am, in St Mary Church, Ridgefield. Interment will be private and at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, Monday, May 12, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
