Regional Hospice Fundraiser Will Feature 90 Artistsâ Work
RIDGEFIELD â The finest works from over 90 well-known artists and sculptors will be displayed and offered for sale during the 16th Annual Arts Festival and Cosmopolitan Buffet, sponsored by the Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut and presented on Friday, June 9, at 7 pm.
An established cultural and social event, the hospice arts festival is a juried show and auction. In a change from recent years, this year a number of the finest paintings, sculptures and pottery will be offered for sale outright or through live and silent auctions.
All proceeds from the event go to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut. Regional Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to patients with a life-limiting or terminal illness, and their families, in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Southbury and Wilton.
âThis annual event allows art lovers to view a wide array of fine works in an enjoyable and relaxed setting, while lending their support to Regional Hospicesâ humanitarian efforts in our community,â said Bill Stax, a hospice board member and the general manager of Connecticut Light and Power.
As guests walk the art-decorated halls of Boehringer-Ingelheim, the location for the gala, they will be entertained with classical, jazz, barbershop, contemporary and other fine music from a number of talented musical groups.
âWith fine art and music, and excellent food and wine, this promises to be an evening that appeals to the senses,â said co-chairman Anthony Rizzo, Sr, the chairman of Rizzo Electric. âIt is a wonderful way to benefit one of this areaâs most valuable non-profit resources, while embracing some of the finest art, music and culinary delights in the region.â
Boehringer Ingelheim Corporation is on Old Ridgebury Road in Ridgefield. Admission is $75 per person, of which $25 can be credited toward the purchase of artwork.
