In Fire

TRUMBULL  (AP) — Eight cats and seven dogs died when a fire tore through a Trumbull animal clinic.

Dr Michael Reid, a veterinarian at Mobile Animal Clinic, suffered from smoke inhalation as he tried to rescue the animals shortly after 6 pm Tuesday. He was taken to a local hospital for observation.

Other workers and clients escaped unharmed.

The blaze started in an electrical outlet on the second floor, said Deputy Fire Marshal Robert Pescatore. The building was demolished, he said.

Fire officials spotted the blaze as they were driving by the building on the way to get gas.
