Occupation: I work for Northwestern Mutual, a financial services company, as a financial representative. I graduated from Suffolk University in Boston, in 2008.

Family: My father, Ted, lived in Rye, N.Y. My mother, Nancy Hough, and her husband, Dunbar, live in Sandy Hook. I have a sister, Katie. She also lives in Sandy Hook. My girlfriend Rachel Berman and I have been together for two years.

Pets: Our dog is Bruno. He’s about 5 years old and really cute. He’s a puggle, a mix of beagle and pug.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I’ve been here nearly my whole life, since kindergarten. I graduated from Newtown High School in 2004.

What do you like to do in your free time? I’m very passionate about music. I’m really into Jimmy Hendrix, Al Green, and the Delfonics, but I like all genres of music. I write songs and lyrics, that’s my biggest thing. I love to read and I’m big into film. I like being active and I like being outside hiking, doing sports, and all of those things.

Do you have a favorite movie? The top two would be The Talented Mr Ripley and the cult classic The Warriors. I could go on forever about movies.

Do you have a favorite author? I like Clive Barker. He writes a lot of horror/fantasy. The Tao of Wu by The RZA, a positive spiritual life lesson book.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? The Cayman Islands. I went there once, and it was a great vacation. I do love Cape Cod, too. I’ve been there numerous times growing up, to Wellfleet.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I like the community and the way everyone comes together. There’s unity in this community. It’s a peaceful town with good, kind people.

What has been the greatest influence in your life? Music has helped me learn a lot about life, but I put my father above that. He has taught me a lot of core values and always has tried to help me grow to be the best person I can be.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I believe in never giving up. If you put in the hard work, you will be successful. I like the quote, “Only God can judge me.”

Do you have a guilty pleasure? If I’m having a bad day, I’ll go on iTunes and buy a couple of albums, even if I shouldn’t be spending the money.
