Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to 28 calls during the period April 29 to March 5.
There were 13 medical calls: 2 respiratory, 2 cardiac, 1 stroke-related, 1 diabetic, 7 miscellaneous medical. There were 8 trauma calls: 2 vehicular, 6 non-vehicular. There also were 7 standby/other calls.
Twenty-one persons were transported to the hospital; 7 were not transported.
The ages: infant to age 2, 2; ages 9 to 12, 1; 22-60, 13, and over 60, 12.
Ten were males, 18 females.
Time of day: midnight to 8 am, 1 call; 8 am to 4 pm, 12 calls; 4 pm to midnight, 15 calls.
