The war in Ukraine is at the top of the news stories and everyone’s minds, but it’s not the only place of conflict and suffering in the world. Currently there are at least 27 live ongoing conflicts according to the Council on Foreign Relation’s Global Conflict Tracker. Not one of them is considered an improving situation. The worst of these conflicts, besides Ukraine, are in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen, Myanmar and Ethiopia.

The Earth itself should also be included on that list. It has been suffering for decades as a result of human conflict and greed, and that situation is also far from improving.

Not since World War II has peace been more threatened as it is today, reports the United Nations.

On Wednesday, May 18, at 7 pm, Love Has a Home will host an evening of prayer and meditation for global peace and healing the earth at Sticks and Stones Farm and on Zoom.

Interfaith minister and Love Has A Home Here Founder Reverend Bill Donaldson will be joined by Grandmother Nancy Andry, Native American Elder; Bruce Nichols, Buddhist teacher from Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village tradition, and members of the community who wish to share an offering of peace.

There is tremendous power when a group comes together with intention, “and our intention is to create a ripple of love to spread across the earth,” said Donaldson.

All are welcome.

Sticks & Stones Farm is at 197 Huntingtown Road. Reservations are not needed, but additional information is available by calling 203-915-0718, sending e-mail to info@lovehasahome.org, or visiting lovehasahome.org. Those planning to participate through Zoon will need to contact Donaldson for the program link.
