Newtown Senior Gold Boys 8, New Canaan Senior Black 6
The Senior Gold Boys controlled the ball for the majority of the contest. A key to the lopsided possession time was Newtownâs domination at the faceoffs by Mike Lord and Justin Brophy. Louis Fenaroli and James Marusi spearheaded a defense that supported goalie Evan Isaacs. Will Fletcher provided outstanding play at long stick midfield. Brendan McNamara was a powerful force between the restraining lines, using size and speed to clear balls and set up the offense. Newtown had a 52-34 ground ball advantage, with Justin Spath scooping five of his own. Trey Trudell had two goals and two assists, Dan Hebert had a goal and two assists, and Parker Rodbell, Chris Tenney , Matt Vavrek, Justin Spath, and Michael Lord all scored. Â
Newtown Senior Gold 10, Weston U15 Blue 2: The Senior Gold Boys played solid team defense in beating Weston. Colin Morris scored five goals and handed out two assists. Dan Hebert scooped up seven loose balls. Andrew Cebry displayed his speed and Trey Trudell moved well off the ball and scored three goals.
 Newtown Senior Blue 8, New Milford U15 Green 2: Nate Coleman scored three goals, had one assist, and scooped eight ground balls in a dominating performance for Newtown. Patrick Capozziello, Graham Derrickson, Matthew Sharpe, James Radcliffe, and Brandon Cusmano scored. Jacob Enriquez had one assist.
Newtown Senior Blue 8, Brookfield 4: Graham Derrickson and Connor Quinn each scored two goals and had an assist. Patrick Capozziello scored three goals and Ted Benoit made 15 saves in goal. James Radcliffe scored a goal, Brandon Cusmano had an assist and Nate Coleman had seven ground balls and handed out an assist.
Weston U13 Blue 10, Newtown Junior Gold 3: Casey Fuller had eight saves and Tyler Hanley had five ground balls and a goal. Jack Kearney and Cody Ryan scored. Christian Barrett had two ground balls and Patrick Thornberg played well on defense.
 Weston U13 White 6, Newtown Junior Blue 2: Newtownâs Patrick Cain was excellent on defense and Colin Reilly, Bradley Kretz, and Jake Lambert were physical yet played penalty free lacrosse. Patrick Barber scored his first goal of the season and Anders Fogelberg contributed a solid, scrappy effort for Newtown.
 Newtown Lightning Gold 12, Brookfield 3: Brandon Powell had four goals and four assists to lead Newtown. Jon Rospenda opened the scoring with the first of his two goals on a clear breakaway. Bubba Condon added three goals and an assist. Additional goals were added by Deegan Beauchemin, Colin Smalkais and Michael Braddick. The defense of C.J. Dunn, Nick Rubino, Stephen Ferrigno and Chris Hartley prevented Brookfield from setting up its offense. Goalie Tommy Rahr limited Brookfield to just three goals to earn the win.
 Weston U11 Blue 9, Newtown Lightning Gold 8: Deegan Beachemin led Newtown with three goals and Bubba Condon had two goals. Nolan Fisher and Brandon Powell added goals as Newtown came from behind. Tommy Rahr and Michael Braddick split the goaltending duties for a combined seven saves. Nolan Fisher and Colin Smalkais each picked up 5 ground balls..
 Newtown Lightning Blue 6, Weston U11 White 4: Newtownâs lone first half goal came from Austin Leblanc. The second half saw a reversal of fortune for Newtown, which trailed 4-1 at the break, as goalie Owen Gray and the Newtown defense of Leblanc, Ethan Marsh and Kyle Mangold stepped up and kept Weston off the board. Newtownâs offense broke out with scores from Joey Santella, James Carney,Andrew Svanda and two goals from Jared Pearson.
Newtown Lightning White 12, Pomperaug Lightning Red 2: Scott Bauer scored two goals and had an assist. Austin Carfi had a goal and an assist, and individual goals were scored by Charlie Fletcher, Quinn Helmig, Bobby Haskins, Jaxon Mills, Kris Whalen, and Ryan Marusi. Christian Morlock was solid in the goal. Assists were compiled by Kenny Barber, Peyton Manning (two), Nick Genovese, Mike Roche, Matt Meyers, and Matt Davis.

Newtown Senior Gold Girls 12, Southbury Senior Girls 4
Christina Caporale came up with 10 saves in the goal to lead Newtown to victory. Christina Gould, Kaitlyn Vos Winkel, Erin Kenning and Rachel Hyland combined for 16 ground balls which gave Newtown dominant possession time. Julia Trudell had two assists. The offense was led by Meredith Bridges, VosWinkel, Molly Mahony, Christina Gould and Alex Klein.

The Senior Gold Girls team continued to improve as they ran the table at New Milford Jamboree. The defense was outstanding throughout the entire day and was led by Rachel Hyland, Katherine Lotrecchiano, Christina Gould, Katelyn Kean, Kelsey Karp and Christina Caporale. Molly Mahony hustled her way to a team-high 10 ground balls. Kaitlyn VosWinkel and Meredith Bridges each had five assists. Bryanna Leblanc and Caporale shared the duties in the net and combined for 17 saves. The midfielders, led by Erin Kenning, Celeste Cheung, Andrea Sayegh, and Kelly OâSullivan, hustled up and down the field. The attack was led by Julia Trudell, Erin Kenning, and Meghan Harkins.
Newtown Senior Blue Girls 15, Southbury B 7: The offensive strike was led by goal-scorers Paige Murphy, Emily Molloy, Lexi Black, Meaghan Knox, Kelsey Packer, Julie LaPerch, and Olivia Phenix, with assists by Knox and Rachel Wiberg. Emma Glasrud shut down the Southbury offensive with nine saves in the goal. Katie McManus, Tess Kneisel, Michelle Isabella, Liz Eiseman, Julia Clarke, Libby DiDimizio and Elle Mouchantat contributed defensively.
Newtown Senior Blue Girls 17, Berlin 3: Kelsey McEvoy, Anna Hodge, Caroline Kingsley, Stephanie Perrotti and Jane Sclafani were solid on offense. Julia Clarke, Meaghan Knox, Kelsey Packer, Emily Molloy and Paige Murphy also scored. Goalkeeper Emma Glasrud made three saves

Newtown Junior Blue Girls 15, Bethel Junior Girls 5: Jaclyn Daily, Carly Ferris, Anna Northrop, Jilliane Lyon and Amanda Crowell led the offensive attack in a game Newtown led from start to finish. Ashley Headen was tenacious on the ground balls and Olivia Korth had two interceptions. Tess Baldino was solid all-around, and Claire Hebert controlled several faceoffs in the second half to seal the win for Newtown.

Carly Ferris notched goals in every contest to lead all scorers with a total of seven, with Noelle Benson, Olivia Korth, Anna Northrop, Jillianne Lyon and Amanda Crowell contributing the rest of the goals and assists. The defense was tough throughout with Olivia Ingham, Haley Keane, Sam Rodriquez, Tess Baldino and Claire Hebert leading the way. Northrop was a ground ball machine, scooping 18. Ashley Headon, in her debut in the cage, recorded the dayâs only shutout, making two saves in the process. Alexa Summerlin and Maddy Peck also shared goaltending duty. With the scored tied in the finale against Stratford, Olivia Korth fed southpaw Amanda Crowell who buried the game-winner with less a minute remaining.

The Junior Gold Girls won one game and lost three in this past weekendâs New Milford Jamboree. Leading the team were midfielders Madeline Fletcher, Meaghan Brophy, Emily Maher, Julia DiLuoffo and Lindsey Jagoe, all of whom scored, swept up ground balls, earned assists and hustled back to defend throughout the day. Attack and defensive leaders were Bridget OâDonnell, Eliza Eggelston, Brittany Cologna, McKensie Hammons, and Bailey Solomons. Mary Beth Semosky and Brittany Boggs shared time in goal.
Newtown Junior Gold Girls 7, New Fairfield 1: Bridget OâDonnell nabbed her first goal of the season and Kristie VosWinkel and Meaghan Brophy scored. Hustle by Julia DiLuoffo, Brittany Cologna, Lindsey Jagoe, Maddie Fletcher, Bailey Solomons and Emily Maher led to 34 ground balls. Brittany Boggs played well in goal.
Newtown Bantam Gold Girls 7, Relax Bantam Girls 5: Celia Gold and Alana OâDonnell shared goaltending duties and made four saves each. Maddie Bridges lead all players with eight ground balls. Cam Morris and Claudia Morris were strong on defense. Goals were scored by Charlotte Stenz, Casey Harkins, Julia Wiberg and Brianna Sclafani. Brittany Meisenheimer and Michaela Hall had two assists each.

Cam Morris, Brittany Meisenheimer and Casey Harkins combined for 11 saves in goal. Maddie Bridges and Celia Gold had nine ground balls each and Alana OâDonnell had seven grounders. Julia Wiberg and Michaela Hall had two steals each. Goals were scored by Charlotte Stenz, Kelly Olsen, Nikki Zaccaro, Brianna Sclafani and Harkins. Claudia Morris had two assists.
U13 Boysâ In House
Bandits 9, Titans 1: Jonathan Walton had a goal and an assist for the Bandits. Mark Klass scored and led the ground ball attack for the Titans. Liam Theis made several saves for the Titans.
Shamrox 8, Roughnecks 5: Shamrocks had goals by Connor Hanley, Doug Miller, and Logan Walsh. Roughnecks goals were scored by Robby Lasher, Andrew Derrickson and Alec Beauchemin. Michael Cirone picked up ground balls and pushed the action on both sides of the ball.
U11 Boysâ In House
Riptide 13, Cannons 11: Nick Rubino and Chris Hartley had key assists to help the Riptide to the win. Josh Headen and Ryan More both provided outstanding defense, and the Riptide offense was lead by Bubba Condon with seven goals. Cannons goals were scored by John Rospenda, Owen Samson, Collin Theis and Jake Courchene-Roy. Andrew Braun scored four goals during his stint on offense and made five saves during his time defending the goal.
Lizards 9, Dragons 9: Among the Lizardsâ goals were scores by Chris Brown, Wiley Zahansky, Declan Sullivan, Charlie Fletcher, Matt Meyers, and Degan Beauchemin. Tommy Rahr had a goal and several assists. Adam Weber played well in the goal. Kieran Lynch also played well in the win. For the Dragons, Christian and Ethan Hoffaman each had five saves. Clay Gattey had three assists. Michael Macciarulo had two goals and Peter Manfredonia added a goal.
Rattlers 11, Outlaws 4: Michael Braddick, Kenny Barber and Gordon Walsh all scored and led the way with ground balls and hustle. C.J. Dunn, Matthew Davis, and Andrew Tousignant also had goals. Nolan Fisher saved six shots in goal. For the Outlaws, Stephen Ferrigno had a goal and an assist, and Markus Wessel played well on defense.
Bantam Boys
Hofstra 7, Danbury 0: Garrett Whaley and Mitchell Savoca both scored twice and Ethan Tousignant, Will Whitlock, and Jack Hanley all scored to lead Hofstra. Tiernan Keane and Oliver Wood were tenacious on defense and groundballs to keep Danbury from scoring.
Hofstra 2, Dartmouth 1: Mitchell Savoca scored twice in Hofstraâs second game of the day. Cayden Dunn and Will Whitlock provided hustle and defensive support. Dartmouth got the game close in the second half with a goal by Sean Wallace. Stewart Olson, Devin Marsh and Shane Gattey were relentless on groundballs throughout the game to keep the pressure on Hofstra.
Syracuse 4, Maryland 1: Syracuse used goals from Owen McInerney (two), Tommy Kitzmiller and Nate Sanchez to pace the offense. Splitting time in goal, Dawson Stout and Alex Hess made saves. Domenic Cartelli scored Marylandâs only goal after a move around the cage. Owen Rahr, Liam Garrison and Timothy Jaeger hustled on both ends of the field for ground balls to keep Maryland in the game.
Bantam Girls
Syracuse 7, Virginia 1: Elizabeth Hodge and Sammi Arnold played strong games in goal for Syracuse. Cameron Morris, Meghan Doyle and Tess Leon-Gambetta sparked the offense and Elizabeth Cain, Danielle Samson and Celia Gold led the defense. For Virginia, the defense of Caroline Caporale and Emily Dirga was strong. Sarah OâRourke picked up ground balls, Julia Wiberg did a solid job in the goal, and Hayley Lambert scored a goal.
Duke 7, Villanova 5: For Duke, Maddie Bridges and Nikki Zaccaro combined for eight saves in goal to lead Duke. Julia Sughrue scooped six ground balls and Haley Harkins had three assists. Robin Rockwell had two steals. Laken Hughes, Casey Harkins and rookie Dylan Zahansky scored. Villanova was led by stellar all-around performances by Charlotte Stenz and Kelley Olson. Caroline Keane provided strong offense, scooping up several ground balls. Defensively, the team was led by solid play by Nevan Gattey and Emma Wolfman.
