Tina M. Comeaux Katz, 73, of Bridgeport, died May 4 in Newtown, surrounded by her loving family at her daughterâs home. Born in Biloxi, Miss., on March 25, 1935, she was a daughter of Charles and Lelia Badeuax Comeaux and was a resident of Little Neck, N.Y., before moving to Bridgeport nine years ago.
Survivors include her two daughters, Wendy Verga and her husband, Marco, of Newtown and Lori Epstein and her husband, Rich, of Trumbull; her son, Ron Katz of New Port Richey, Fla.; a sister, Jeannie Comeaux of Ocean Springs, Miss.; and seven grandchildren, Scott, Shana and Jared Epstein, Justin and Rachele Katz, and Joseph and Kayla Verga. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Chester and Dave, and a sister, Dorothy.
Ms Katz was a communicant of St Andrew Church in Bridgeport where she was a Eucharistic Minister and active member of the choir. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joys in life were her grandchildren. Mrs Katz also took great pleasure in participating in many religious events such as the Curcio Movement and other various retreats. She possessed an incredible sense of humor and a hearty and infectious laugh that will be missed by all.
Funeral services took place May 7 in Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull, and in St Andrew Church, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
