Tom Wyatt belted four home runs and drove in 10 runs as Hurd Construction opened the 2003 season with a 19-13 win over Thomasville Furniture. Jay Edwards had four hits (including a long double) while Bob McHugh played well on defense and Bill Girard and Jack Huray combined on the mound.

In other action, Rick Kasbarian clubbed a pair of home runs and Mike Porco, Chris Dennis and Kim McKee had one apiece to lead Porco’s Construction to a 23-1 win over Southbury Printing. Kasbarian, McKee and Keith Brown all went 4-for-5 in the game while Dennis was 3-for-5 and Tim Zeno 3-for-4. Kasbarian and Dennis drove in four runs apiece while Porco drove in three.

For Southbury, Chris Arnold had the only RBI of the game.
