Free Programs On Joint Health,

 Preventing Breast Cancer

Free programs on joint health and preventing breast cancer will be held next week in Newtown.

Clinical nutritionist Bea Gallagher will talk about preventing breast cancer on Wednesday, May 14, at the Physical Medicine and Wellness Center, 24 Glen Road, Sandy Hook, from 7 to 8:30 pm.

“Cancer takes anywhere from five to 20 years to develop and there are plenty of things you can do to prevent it,” Ms Gallagher said. “In this lecture you will learn about hormonal balance, diets that help, and herbal products that protect your breast from this terrible disease. Finally a discussion will be held about other lab tests available besides a mammography.”

To register for the program call 426-6334.

On Friday, May 16, Ms Gallagher and physical therapist Tom DiNicola will present a free program on joint health from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Church Hill Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation Center, 30 Church Hill Road. To register call 426-8449.

The lecture will explain how to prevent joint damage; how to protect joints from uneven wear and tear; what nutrients they need to stay healthy; how to heal joints and natural remedies for pain.
