Beaux Arts Hosting Gathering Of Artists

WOODBURY — The Beaux Arts Gallery of Woodbury is presenting “A Gathering of Artists,” artists’ works selected by David Dunlop, on view through June 1.

Deliciously rich pigment glows across the collective surfaces of the Beaux Art Gallery walls. “A Gathering of Artists” highlights the works of regional artists hand selected by Silvermine School of Art faculty member and artist David Dunlop.

C.J. Guerin, Fran Henry-Meehan, Helene Brier, Michael Zack and Mr Dunlop himself are represented by original artworks in printmaking, watercolors and oils on canvas. The Silvermine artists share a common aesthetic focused on a philosophical look into landscape. Traditional techniques married with contemporary theories not only break the boundaries of the classical landscape but also evoke the imageries’ emotional depth and poignancy.

One artist’s poetic form, another’s interior contemplations and still another’s lyrical abstractions push towards a less formal approach while two of the featured artists exhibit a representational look of European and New England landscapes to reveal their collective passion for the dramatic.

Beaux Arts Gallery’s new location is 495 Main Street South (Route 6) in Woodbury, directly across the street from The Curtis House. The newly renovated space is a cottage built in the 1820s located on the grounds of one of Woodbury’s prominent historic homes. For further information contact the gallery at 203-263-3939 or send email to BAGall@snet.net.
