Robert N. Harris, Jr, 46, of Southbury, formerly of Newtown, died Tuesday, May 5.

Robert was born March 8, 1969, in Queens, N.Y., a son of Anita (Hasskamp) Harris and Robert N. Harris. He graduated from Newtown schools, received his bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Penn., and his master’s from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Penn.

Before his retirement, Robert worked at the Psychology Laboratory at Carnegie Mellon, was the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kingston, N.Y., and a ministerial assistant at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Warwick, R.I. He enjoyed traveling, photography, music, and playing the trombone.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Leanne Harris; his sister and brother-in-law, Reagan and Kyle Fitzgibbons; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at 4 pm, at St James Lutheran Church, 111 Peter Road in Southbury. Burial will be in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 12, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, and Wednesday from 3 to 4 pm at St James Lutheran Church.
