In addition to its Veterans’ Oasis Flag Fundraiser, Newtown Woman’s Club has two additional fundraisers this month.

On Saturday, May 16, the club will offer a Self-Guided Open Studio Tour. Six Newtown artists — Pat Barkman, Betty Christensen, Robert Cottingham, Dick McEvoy, Ruth Newquist, and Virginia Zic — have agreed to open their studios between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm. Tickets are $15 each and maps will be available to help ticketholders find the studios on Saturday.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Drug Center Pharmacy, 61 Church Hill Road, or at the front desk of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street. Call Marianne Scanlon, 426-5283, for additional information.

The Woman’s Club is also running a dollhouse raffle. A fully furnished and lighted dollhouse, with many of the furnishing handmade by club members, will go to one lucky winner on May 21, who will also receive a $100 gift certificate to Mirabella Miniatures in Fairfield.

Tickets for this are $5 and can be purchased from any club member, at the library and Drug Center, as well as Queen Street Cleaners. Contact Marie Sturdevant at 740-2733 for details. Proceeds from the dollhouse raffle will be returned to the community through donations to various agencies.
