Former Newtown Park Superintendent And Dispatcher
Henry F. Kniese, 83, of Sandy Hook, died May 4, at St Josephâs Manor in Trumbull. Mr Kniese was born October 11, 1925, in Westport, son of Hans and Pauline (Strattmann) Kniese.
He was a US Air Force veteran of World War II, and retired as a general foreman from Sikorsky Aircraft, where he worked for 28 years. He also retired from the Town of Newtown as a park superintendent and had worked as a dispatcher for the Newtown Police Department. He was a resident of Sandy Hook for 46 years.
Mr Kniese leaves his sister, Kathryn L. Stormer of Sandy Hook; a nephew, Henry W. Stormer of Southbury; three nieces; and several great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 23, at noon, at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
