Simple Trespassing

About 3:34 am on May 2, a Fairfield Hills security staff member called police to report some trespassers at the campus.

Police said they located a vehicle that had gone to a secluded area of the campus and investigated, issuing infraction tickets for simple trespassing to its four occupants. They are Melissa Turner, 25, of Stratford; Cheyne Brannigen, 26, of Stratford; Daniel Cunningham, 28, of Bridgeport, and Sarah DeFelice, 19, of Ansonia, police said. The tickets, which carry a $92 fine, are appealable in court.

Window Damage

Sometime between 9:30 pm on April 30, and 6 am on May 1, someone damaged a window on a storage shed at Dickinson Park on Elm Drive, police report. The damage is estimated at $200. Police are investigating and ask anyone with knowledge of who damaged the window to contact them at 426-5841.

Super Stop & Shop

Police report an apparent incident of attempted shoplifting at the Super Stop & Shop supermarket at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street about 2:38 pm April 30.

Two adults attempted to illegally remove a shopping cart filled with baby formula from the store, but were stopped by store security staff and prevented from doing so, police said.

Police categorized the incident as a criminal attempt to commit larceny.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicle in which the pair drove away from the store to contact Officer Steven Borges at the police station.

BMW Off Road

Police responded to a report of a one-car accident about 1 am on May 1 on Toddy Hill Road, just south of its intersection with Marlin Road.

Police said motorist Bradley Andresen, 22, of 2 Trout Brook Circle was driving a 1988 BMW 325-I coupe northward on Toddy Hill Road, when while negotiating a curve in the road, he lost control of the vehicle, went onto the right road shoulder, hit an embankment, spun around and then struck some rocks. Andresen was not injured, police report.

Police issued him a written warning for making an improper turn.
