Results from recent action at Rock Ridge Country Club are as follows:

Men’s Opening Day Tournament: The men kicked off the year with the annual opening ABCD tournament on April 26. In the opening tournament, the men play in teams of four in a modified scramble format. It was an exciting day with two teams finishing tied for the lead at 12 under par, and a third team just one stroke back at 11 under par.

The opening day champions were determined by a match of cards, with the team of Mike Johnson, Mike Portnoy, Ron Molles and Ben Spragg edging out the team of Mike Spicci, Frank Colavito, Len Calbo and Mike Lally. In third place were Steve Mais, Jeff Fetchick, Vincent Palumbo and Joel Ratner.  New members McAdory Lipscomb, Johara Gardner and Michael LeBlanc all finished among the top 10 with their respective teams.

Ladies Opening Day Tournament: The ladies’ opening tournament took place this past Sunday. The ladies’ opening tournament is a 9 hole scramble event, played in teams of four. Similar to the men’s tournament from the week before, there was a tie for first place, this time with three teams shooting a score of one over par. 

After a match of cards, the team of Debby Tendler, Sarah Cappelli, Julie Davies and Tara Kortze took first-place honors. Second place went to the team of Pam Campbell, Susan Wallace, Kathy Fetchick and Chris Mais, with third place going to Kara Foulk, Ann Feltch, Becky Soder and Libby Keating. New member Lisa LeBlanc finished in fourth place with her team, which also won the closest to the pin award, thanks to Randi Miller’s tee shot on the 9th hole just 9 feet from the flag.

Couples League: Couples enjoy a “nine and dine” event every Saturday night starting in May. The first event of the season was held on May 2. With a score of 31, Phil and Sarah Cappelli squeaked by Jeff and Kathy Fetchick to win by one stroke.
