A Rewarding Career
A Rewarding Career
To the Editor:
Thank you for your article in the Health section written about Lauren Bonacci and occupational therapy [âYoung Occupational Therapist Sees A Bright Future,â The Newtown Bee, 4/24/09]. It did a great job explaining what OT is, and how those in this profession are much in demand, now and into the future.
I retired one year ago to change careers and become an occupational therapy assistant. OTAs do most of the hands-on therapy in this profession. I attend Housatonic Community College. It is the best two-year program in our state. Itâs most affordable, rewarding, and like Lauren, it offers a guaranteed job wherever one chooses to live with a very good salary upon graduation.
