Boulevard Burglary
Police report that sometime on April 24 someone broke into a house on The Boulevard. Nothing appears to have been damaged or stolen in the incident.
Police are investigating the third-degree burglary and ask anyone who may know details of the incident to contact them at 426-5841.
Intersection Collision
Police report a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of South Main Street, Orchard Hill Road, and Huntingtown Road about 1:45 pm May 3.
Police said motorist Benjamin Nagy, 16, of 38 Cold Spring Road, who was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection waiting to enter South Main Street. Nagy then pulled forward, striking a southbound 1985 Dodge Aries driven by Grace Toth, 81, of 43 Birch Hill Road, police said.
The Dodge pulled over, but the Ford continued northbound on South Main Street, police said. Ms Toth received a bruised arm, police said.
Police said they found the Ford the following day with collision damage consistent with the accident.
Police charged Nagy with evading responsibility and failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign. Nagy was scheduled to appear in court May 11 to answer the charges.
Spin Out
State police report motorist Amish Gandhi, 26, of Phoenixville, Penn., who was driving a 1998 Mitsubishi about 8:15 pm May 5 on the eastbound Interstate-84 Exit 10 on-ramp, was taking a curve on the wet roadway when the vehicle went out of control and spun into about 30 feet of steel guard cabling.
Gandhi was not injured. State police said Gandhi was traveling too fast for conditions.

Asleep At The Wheel
State police report tractor-trailer truck driver Carl M. Turner, 34, of Duryea, Penn., was driving westbound on Interstate-84 east of Exit 11 about 4:30 am May 4 when he fell asleep and struck the rear end of a westbound 1999 Chrysler Cirrus driven by Bonnie L. Berte, 31, of 21 Paugussett Road, Sandy Hook. The truck then jackknifed and went onto the highwayâs median divider, state police said.
There were no injuries.
State police said Duryea had violated the regulation not to exceed 10 hours of continuous driving and was following too closely.
Saab Accident
State police said motorist Henry R. Bernacki, 78, of Redding, who was driving a 1991 Saab 9000 westbound on Interstate-84 at Exit 11 about 3:15 pm May 4, struck the median guardrail causing moderate damage to the left side of the auto. Bernacki was not injured. State police said he failed to drive in the proper lane.

Assault Charge
Police said Stephen Selezan, 17, of 10 Hedge Meadow Road, turned himself in at the police station May 8 after learning police had a warrant for his arrest on a charge of third-degree assault stemming from a past incident at a Sugar Street address.
Police said they released Selezan into the custody of a relative. Selezan is scheduled to appear in court May 17 to answer the charge.
Trespassing
Police said they charged Cesar Hondares, 19, of 37 Sugar Street with first-degree criminal trespassing at Newtown High School on the morning of May 9.
Police said they received a call from the high school alerting them that Hondares had appeared on school grounds after having been told to stay away from the school.
Police said they released Hondares on a $300 bond for a May 16 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Flat Swamp Road
Police report tractor-trailer truck driver Maximo L. Canales, 56, of Waterbury was driving northbound on Flat Swamp Road in Dodgingtown early on the afternoon of May 9 when the trailer struck a utility pole, bringing down some utility lines. Canales was not injured, police said.
The accident closed down a section of Flat Swamp Road between Jangling Plains Road and Poverty Hollow Road for about one hour while utility crews repaired the damage, police said.
