BOTSFORD DRIVE-IN 18, JP McGUIRE 3: Norm Abair belted two home runs and Matt Gee added another as the Botsford Drive Inn opened the Sunday Slo-Pitch Softball League season with a win. Abair finished with three hits and six RBI. Rich Staid collected five hits and Kevin Morgan added four. Keith Bronn, Dave Bambino and Brian Trosan all had three hits for Botsford.
Frank Durante banged out three hits â one of them a homer â and drove in two runs to lead McGuire.
YAKS 9, G&H TOOL 6: The Yaks â led by Frank von Oy, who was 2-for-4 on the day â scored three runs in the top of the 10th to break open the game and secure the win. Defense, though, was the key to the win.
HURD CONSTRUCTION 16, G&H TOOL 14: The 1999 B Division champions, Hurd Construction, pounded out 24 hits for the victory. Scott Hurd and Jim Dudeck had four hits apiece while Bill Girard and Jim Muraski had three hits apiece. Bill Hurd pitched a solid game.
