Vote No On Borough Funds Hoarding
To the Editor:
The Borough Board of Burgess has amassed an amazing budget surplus over the last several years. Although it costs about $200,000 a year to run the Borough, the board has accumulated a surplus of nearly $700,000! This is nothing short of hoarding our tax dollars.
At the upcoming Borough budget vote, May 14, let’s stand up and vote down the budget to force the Board of Burgess to use up a portion of that $700,000 surplus before they tax us any further. Let’s stop the Borough from hoarding any more of our tax dollars by voting No on the upcoming budget.
