Occupation: I work at Lowe’s in Danbury as a sales specialist in the millwork department, doors and windows. I’ve been there for 3½ years.

Family: I have been married to my wonderful husband, Greg, for 19 years. We have two awesome sons, Dustin, 18, who will graduate from Newtown High School in June, and Dylan, 15, who is a freshman at Abbott Tech High School, studying electrical. My mother-in-law, Nancy, lives with us, too.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We have lived here for four years in July.  We moved from Norwalk, where I grew up.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love photography and gardening. In fact, I am going for a record sunflower height. Last year’s was close to 15 feet tall. It was so huge and beautiful last year. I love playing sports with my sons, too.

Do you have a favorite sports team? My favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees. I am a third generation Yankee fan. They are going for the 28th championship this year. So, “Number 28 is going to be great, because in 2010, they are going to do it again.”

Do you have a favorite travel or vacation destination? My favorite vacation spot is Aruba. I used to go there with my mom. We loved the beautiful white sand beaches and blue ocean water.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love the beautiful country scenery. We have been blessed with warm friendships from our neighbors in the community, and our church, Newtown United Methodist.

If you could spend a day with anyone, who would you choose? I would love to spend a day with Derek Jeter because he is such a gentleman, a fantastic athlete, and very nice on the eyes.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I always tell my boys, every day, “May you try your best every day and succeed along the way, because I love you both more today than yesterday.”

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Yes. Hershey chocolate with almonds.
