Joshua R. Finn, 50, of Derby, previously of Newtown, died unexpectedly April 30, at his home. He was born in New York City February 22, 1960, a son of Elsa (Gaydos) Finn of Oceanside, Calif., and the late Frank N. Finn.

 A resident of Newtown until 1991, Mr Finn was educated in Newtown schools and had worked as a chef at the Hawley Manor and the Newtown Inn (now Mona Lisa) restaurants. He was currently manager of the Cumberland Farms Store in Norwalk.

Mr Finn loved animals and was a supporter of the Connecticut Humane Society.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Frank N. Finn, Jr, of Las Vegas; three sisters, Moira Finn of Oceanside, Calif., Lisa Platt of Bethlehem, and Jillian Finn of New York City; and five nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 7, at 10 am, in Christ Episcopal Church, 184 Cross Highway, Redding Ridge. Interment will follow in Redding Ridge Cemetery.

Calling hours were scheduled at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Thursday evening, May 6, from 7 to 9.
