Craft Center Hosting A Celebration Of Student Work

BROOKFIELD — Works by more than 30 Brookfield Craft Center students are on display in the craft center’s Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery through May 16. A closing reception is planned for that afternoon from 2 to 4 pm.

The exhibition, “Creativity 2010: A Celebration of Student Work,” highlights the exceptional work being created by area artists in the craft center’s six fully-equipped studios, in traditional and contemporary craft mediums of ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry (including work by Rachel Morris of Newtown), metal (including work by Travis Hanna and Tyler Hanna, both of Sandy Hook) and wood.

Some pieces are for sale, with proceeds directly supporting the craft center’s education programs as well as the participating artists.

The gallery is located in the historic Brookfield Craft Center Mill Building, 286 Whisconier Road (Route 25), and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, Sundays from noon to 5.

For more information, visit BrookfieldCraftCenter.org or call 203-775-4526.
