Quiet Company 16, Georgeâs Pizza 8 â Ashley Christiano and Renata Villareal pitched well and Jaclyn Van Waalwijk drove in eight runs to lead the Quiet Company to the win. For Georgeâs, Ashlee Ross and Andrew Rigby collected three hits apiece as Amanda Diaz made some fine defensive plays.
Drug Center 11, Newtown Phone Book 9 â Lindsey Greene went 2âforâ3, driving in four runs, to lead Drug Center to the win. Nicole Benzinger collected two hits and two RBI as Rachel Marlin and Erin Mukwaya anchored the defense. For the Phone Book, Nicole Alberico had three hits, Rebecca Read had two, and Nikki Reyen and Katie Midlik played well in the field.
Preferred Computer Systems 14, Georgeâs Pizza 14 â Alyson Graham scored three runs and Katie Kirrane pitched two innings of oneâhit ball to power PCS in the tie. Carly Doherty made three outs at first and Julie Kelt made some fine plays at second base to spark the D. For Georgeâs, Kelley Tenney drove in five runs, Ashlee Ross pitched well, and Megan Brayton (first base) and Katie Freeman (second base) made some sparkling defensive plays.

Carquest 15, Burton Builders 6 â Nicole Maggio led Carquest to the win with great pitching, while Laura Fratterolli did a fine job on first base. For Burton, Jenny Dorso and Kelly Burton banged out two hits each as Jennifer Callery and Caitlin Tefft also had hits. Lauren Johnson made an unassisted double play.
Carquest 11, Ricciâs Salon 5 â Kelsey Daniels banged out two hits and pitched well, with seven strikeouts, to lead Carquest to the win. Rachael Fisher played great defense at shortstop, making two outs. For Ricciâs, Nicole Escobar and Jenna Perez collaborated on a double play while Jackie Bonodio pitched three good innings.
Newtown Hardware 12, Creative Mailing Services 10 â Ashley Soucar had two hits and two RBI as Monique Samuelson pitched three strong innings to lead Newtown Hardware. Tara Hiteshew had three assists on defense. For Creative Mailing Services, Katlin Marsden had a double, Ashley Kuligowski and Maura McDade had one hit, and Katie Bowen pitched well with seven strikeouts.
Airtech 17, Burton Builders 14 â Sarah Steiner and Samantha Defilippe led the Airtech offense with three hits each while Kathy Townsend, Tracy Dunn and Cristin Carlin excelled in the field. For Burton, Brady Eggleston, Stephanie Mitchel and Emily Bernson had two RBI each. Marissa Saravis and Hanna Deflumeri also had runâscoring singles to lead the offense.
Airtech 16, Karenâs Fitness 9 â Tracy Dunn and Samantha Defilippe led a depleted Airtech roster with strong pitching performances. Pam Rothenberg and Sarah Steiner played tough in the field while Jessica Cherry, Cristin Carlin and Kathy Townsend combined to score nine runs. FOr Karenâs, Brittany Clarke and Stephanie Arndt led the offense with two hits each while Kate Bamberg and Morgan DâAvola played strong defense.

Executive Lawn 11, Richâs Keys & Locks 6 â Jackie Kissack belted a home run and Maggie Atkinson pitched well to lead Executive Lawn to the win. Marissa Cascella and Julia Clarke played well. For Richâs, Caitlin Appley, Melissa Davila and Abbey Doski had fine games.
Richâs Keys & Locks 15, Villa Restaurant 11 â Ashley Perry and Kelsey Van Der Linn drove in two runs apiece to lead Richâs to the win. Melissa Davila and Kelly Brooks scored two runs apiece and drove in one each. For Villa, Aria Brownell and Samantha Liss powered the offense as Kendal Svanda and Nicole Hamilton combined to turn in the defensive highlight of the evening.
Bob Tendler Real Estate 10, Newtown Insurance 7 â Jade Mather, Shanna Barra and Caitlin Dowling had runâscoring hits to power Bob Tendler. Colleen Cunningham turned in a strong pitching effort. For Newtown Insurance, Elizabeth Grimes had a hit, Emily Rowe was strong in the field, and Alaina Coken and Erin Kenning pitched well.
Executive Lawn 12, JP Maguire 4 â Megan Murphy was 3âforâ3 and Nicole Scalora drove in a pair of runs to lead Executive Lawn to the win. Natalie Dunn had a pair of hits and one RBI while Jackie Kissack pitched three solid innings. For JP, Jessica Fossum, Sarah Smith and Kyra Middeleer pitched well and Mary Hamula had a solid hit.

Attorney Natalie Smith 15, Peopleâs Bank 15 â Kayla OâGrady pitched a strong game to lead Attorney Smith in the tie. Anna Grillo played well at second base as Rachel Buzzi and Mariah Joy collected two hits apiece.
Travel Tryouts
Babe Ruth Softball travel tryouts for U10 and U12 age divisions will be held Saturday, May 15, at the Newtown Middle School. The U10s will meet from 1 to 3 pm with the U12s to meet from 4 to 6 pm. Rain date will Sunday, May 16, with the same times.
