Thomas J. McCorry
Thomas J. McCorry, 82, of Stratford, beloved husband of 56 years of Ann (Grich) McCorry, died April 28 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, Mr McCorry had been a Stratford resident for more than 57 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three beloved children and their spouses, Elizabeth (Betty) and Robert Foster of Newtown, Thomas and Gail McCorry of Georgia, and Joseph and MaryJo McCorry of Shelton; one sister, Elizabeth Davidowski of Stratford; six granddaughters, Christine and Tara Foster and Kaitlin, Thiandra, Kelly, and Michelle McCorry; one great-granddaughter, Julie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a World War II US Army veteran and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr McCorry had served in the Battle of the Bulge and the Invasion of Normandy. He was retired from Singer Manufacturing, and was also retired for the Board of Education with the Town of Stratford. Mr McCorry was a volunteer at the Baldwin Center. He loved to do woodcarving.
A funeral service was held May 3 at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at Holy Name of Jesus Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
