Attorney Richard C. Thompson, 63, of Trumbull, died April 27, at OâConner Hospital in San Jose, Calif.
Richard was born in Yonkers, N.Y., to the late Charles and Virginia Jiminez Thompson and was a Trumbull resident for the past 25 years.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Barbara Kelley Thompson of Trumbull; two daughters, Lauren Liniger and her husband Eric of Newtown, and Barbie Thompson of Trumbull; two sons, Christopher Thompson and Charles Thompson of Yorktown, N.Y.; two stepsons, Robert Hargreaves and his wife Debra of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., and William Hargreaves and his wife Rebecca of Santa Clara, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Gallos and her husband Richard, of Rye Brook, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Kurt, Kevin, and Kirsten Liniger, and Julie, Robert and Ryan Hargreaves, and Trey and Cody Gallos; along with several cousins.
A member of the American and New York Bar Associations, Attorney Thompson practiced real estate and trust and estate law for 35 years, both as a vice president for the Bank of New York, and in private practice. He served as a military intelligence Army captain in the Vietnam War.
An enthusiast of the art and antique world, he ran R&B Enterprises, an auction business, with his wife. He was also an accomplished author, completing three books and numerous short stories.
Funeral services were held May 4. Interment was private.
