Oratory Plans Healing Conference
RIDGEFIELD â The Oratory of the Little Way will host its annual healing conference on May 15 at the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Ridgefield from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
The keynote speaker will be Julie Sheldon from England. She is the sister of Nigel Mumford, former director of the Oratory. As well as an accomplished speaker, she is the author of three books, Dancer Off Her Feet, The Blessing of Tears, and One Step at a Time. For three years the former ballet dancer was stricken with the neurological disease dystonia and her life hung in the balance. She will discuss how she was healed and how her recovery influenced those around her.
The title of this yearâs conference is âSpiritual Healing As Medicine.â In addition to Ms Sheldon, speakers include Dr Lorraine Hartnett, an emergency room physician at Middlesex Hospital.
Music will be provided by gospel singer Adrienne Reedy. Her premiere CD, He Carries Me, was released in November of 2002 and has already sold more than a thousand copies nationwide.
