Edward J. Lynch has been promoted to the rank of colonel in the state police department, assuming responsibility as the state policeâs commanding officer.
Colonel Lynch was promoted from the rank of lieutenant colonel, and assumed the leadership position on May 3 in ceremonies in Meriden. State Public Safety Commissioner Arthur L. Spada formally promoted Col Lynch in ceremonies at the Connecticut Police Academy.
Before becoming head of the state police, Col Lynch had was in charge of the organizationâs field operations unit.
In a statement, Mr Spada said that Col Lynch is uniquely qualified to head the law enforcement organization.
Col Lynch is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He holds a masterâs degree in management, plus a certificate in conflict resolution.
