Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings Focus On Senior Health And Stroke Prevention

DANBURY — Physician and nurse specialists discuss dementia, osteoarthritis, pneumonia, other age-related illnesses and available community resources at the next Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meeting “Gaining Insight Into Aging Health Issues” on Tuesday, May 11, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The program takes place at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue. Park free in the Blue Visitor’s Parking Lot, Hospital Avenue entrance.

Featured speakers will be Juan Pablo Caeiro, MD, director of geriatric and adult medicine at the Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center, 70 Main Street, Danbury; David Trock, MD, chief of rheumatology at the hospital; and Byron Thomas, MD, an internal medicine specialist. All are physician members of the Danbury Office of Physician Services. Also on the panel will be Alice Correira, a registered nurse and clinical case coordinator at the Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center. Patricia Palmer, an advanced practice registered nurse with the Geriatric Health Center, Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center, will facilitate the evening program.

A Medical Town Meeting addressing the “Misconceptions and Realities of Stroke” takes place on Tuesday, May 18, from 7 to 8:30 pm at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium.

The featured speaker on May 18 is Neil Culligan, MD, a board-certified neurologist and practicing physician at Neurology Associates of Danbury. Dr Culligan discusses prevention, warning signs, risk factors, and treatment of stroke.

Ample time will be provided for audience questions. Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings are free, monthly health and wellness programs open to the public. No RSVP is required.
