Burson Promoted At New York Life
NEW YORK CITY â New York Life Insurance Company announced last week that Michael Burson of Sandy Hook has been named first vice president. He is responsible for the recruiting and retention unit in agency, which includes net staffing growth initiatives, agent and management training, selling systems, district agent program, market expansion, and industry relations.
Mr. Burson joined New York Life in 1976 as an agent. In that role, he received company and industry recognition for his sales accomplishments. He qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table, an industry achievement awarded to those agents with superior sales and service records, and was named to New York Lifeâs executive council.
 During his career with New York Life, Mr Burson held a variety of positions in the field including training supervisor, training manager, training consultant, marketing consultant, sales manager, and partner of the Dallas general office. He assumed his current responsibilities in 1997.
Mr Burson earned a bachelor of science degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Mr Burson and his wife Carolyn, who live in Sandy Hook, have three sons and a grandson.
