Boys Senior Blue
Watertown 9, Newtown 4 â Nikko Confortini and Sean Ryan scored first quarter goals, but Watertown rallied to take a 4-2 lead at the half enroute to a 9-4 win. Confortini and Zach Brazo had opportunities to punch in a pair of second half goals. CJ Spath, Matt Colletti, Jake Phenix â the big guy in the middle â played well on defense.
Boys Senior A

Newtown 8, Amity 7 â Ryan Golankiewicz scooper a ground ball, ran the length of the field and passed off to Brendan Martin for the winning goal. Tim Wheeler finished with four goals while Ned Emerson, Derek Flynn and Zach Varga also scored. Jacob Dauz, John Grimaldi, Will Mahoney and Martin had six ground balls apiece.
Newtown 15, Southbury 3 â Will Mahoney scored four goals and Ned Emerson added three more to lead Newtown to the win. Tim Wheeler and Eric Dreher scored two goals apiece as PJ Cochrane, Jacob Dauz, Derek Flynn and Brendan Martin got into the act. Paul Tropsa had three assists while Zach Varga and Wheeler had two apiece. Joe Benno made 13 saves in the cage.
Boys Junior A
Newtown 8, Trumbull 2 â Andrew Golankiewicz and Andrew Hyland spearheaded a stifling defensive effort as the Junior A Boys opened their season at Treadwell Park with an 8-2 win over a very physical Trumbull Junior A squad. Lewis Thompson, Max Brazo, Brandon Body, Dylan Huebner (2), Tim Dalton, Colby Summerlin, and Michael Hadgraft all scored to power the offense. Max Paynter, Tyler Davenport, and Brazo had assists. Ben Collins, and Max Naciewicz anchored the defense in front of goaltender Andrew Hyland and Ben Mahony (four ground balls) had a strong game in the midfield.
Boys Junior Gold
New Milford 7, Newtown 4 â Austin Bonadio had two goals and Billy Thursland made eight saves, but Newtownâs Junior Gold Team fell behind early and couldnât catch up. Will Northrop scored a goal and assisted on another and Colin Morris added a goal to lead Newtown. Jack Kneisel was solid at the heart of the defense. Thomas DiLuoffo also played tough, picking up four ground balls and bringing a physical style of play to the game.
Boys Junior Blue
Watertown 5, Newtown 1 â After a shaky first period, goaltender Emmett White clamped down with the aid of solid defense by Will Provey, Joshua Leighton and Eric Johnson. Connor Chilson, Danny Greenfield and Ryan Murphy did an outstanding job as midfielders. Zach Le Mein scored the lone Newtown goal.
Newtown 4, Trumbull 3 â Connor Byrne, Brian Cantore, Daniel Greenwood and David Kreshpan all scored for Newtown in an evenly matched game. Colby Gleacher did an outstanding job as goalie and had strong support from Josh Leighton on defense. Christian Gregoire, Kyle Vignone and Ryan Korth provided good hustle for the midfield lines as did James Radcliffe, Ryan Bienkowski, Brandon Bennett and Ben DâAgostino.
Bantam Boys
Sea Gulls 10, Green Machine 7 â Michael Lord scored scored goals and Will Fletcher added three as the Sea Gulls defeated the Green Machine. Andrew Cebry added a pair of goals and Jimmy Mooney chipped in with one. Greg Frattaroli had nine saves in goal. Christian Mather and Gabe Ruiz scored two goals apiece to lead the Green Machine offense with Griffin Paynter, Matt Vavrek, and Stefan Dullinger adding a goal each. Tom Bauer and Matt Vavrek combined to make seven saves in goal.
Blue Devils 15, Falcons 10 â Justin Brophy scored five goals and Daniel Hebert added four to lead the Blue Devils over the Falcons. Michael Daubert scored a pair and the Devils got single goals from Ted Benoit, Justin Spath, Kyle Hagerman, and Roland Stephen. James Marusi scored four goals and Stefan Hennessey and Jack Curry added a pair each to lead the Falcons. Alec Beauchemin and Brian Kruger added a goal apiece.
Lightning 11, Eagles 5 â Brendan MacNamara scored four goals and Conor Quinn added three to lead the Lightning. Nick Crudo, Chad Cullens, Cody Ryan, and Nick Pedalino all scored. Chris Arnone led the Eagles with a pair of goals with Parker Rodbell, Michael Fitzsimons, and Robert Willis scoring a goal each. Doug Pierce and Patrick Milano shared the keeper duties and combined on seven saves.
Girls Senior Gold

Redding, Newtown â Michelle Siladi, Krystal Perrotti, Marni Thompson, Katherine Donahue, and Rachel Rockwell had oustanding field games and Lisa Isabella made 10 saves in goal.
Newtown 6, Hyde Park 1 â Meagan Kelly scored three goals and Sarah Cioffoletti, Keegan Frobey, and Renee Solheim added a goal apiece in the win. Devon Ferris, Erin Nemeth, and Michelle Siladi added assists with Lisa Isabella stopping five shots in the cage.
Girls Senior Blue
Newtown 12, New Milford 2 â Meghan Trosan scored three goals and Lauren Sudbey and Hannah Tenenbaum had two goals and an assist to lead the Senior Blue team. Renee Solheim had two goals and Libby Feltch and Courtney Gleason added a goal and an assist each. Lauren Clark scored once, Jackie Isabella assisted twice, and Stephanie Soder and Betsy Vendel added assists.
Newtown 11, New Milford 0 â Lisa Isabella posted her first shutout in goal and Courtney Gleason led the scoring with two goals and three assists as the Senior Blue Girls rolled to the win. Meghan Trosan chipped in with two goals and an assist with single goals coming from Christie Attanasio, Lauren Clark, Stephanie Soder, Jackie Isabella, Lauren Sudbey, Renee Solheim, and Molly Murtha.
Junior Girls
The Junior Girls â coached by Maura Fletcher â boasted three straight wins at the New Milford Jamboree. The locals defeated New Milford 12-2 and then routed Brookfield 8-1 and slipped past Southbury (for the second time this year) 6-2 to remain undefeated on the season.
