BERLIN — The annual meeting of the Connecticut Society of Genealogists will be held on Saturday, May 15, at the Hawthorne Inn, 2421 Wilbur Cross Highway, at 10 am.

The luncheon meeting will feature Henry “Hank” Jones as the speaker. He is an entertaining lecturer, an accomplished writer, and a member of the American Society of Genealogists.

Mr Jones has been actively researching the family tree since he was 8 years old and wrote his first genealogical book while still in high school. After graduating from Stanford University, he began a 20-year career as a character actor in motion pictures and television, appearing in many comedies and Walt Disney movies. His years of work pursuing and documenting the German Palatines, immigrants to colonial America in the 18th Century, have resulted in several books including The Palatine Families of Ireland, Westward To America, and Palatine Families of New York.

His talk will feature “Tracing the Origins of Early 18th Century Palatine and Other Emigrants” and “When the Sources are Wrong.”

The fee for the luncheon is $20, and registration is necessary. Call the CSG office at 860-569-0002 to register.
