Devoted Wife, Mother, And Grandmother
Gloria Stolfi Melli, 79, of Stratford, the devoted wife of Michael E. Melli, Sr, died peacefully, May 3, at St Vincentâs Medical Center, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., November 26, 1931, she was a daughter of Helen Franzo Stolfi Neri and Agusto Stolfi
In addition to her husband of 59 years, survivors include three loving children; two siblings, including Anthony S. Neri of Newtown; six cherished grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was retired from the Town of Stratford Public School System as a lunch services supervisor with 17 years of service. She was a parishioner of St Mark Church and a member of the Ladies Guild. Mrs Melli enjoyed traveling, and loved going to the casino. Above all, she enjoyed her time with her family, neighbors, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at St Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, Friday, May 6, at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford CT 06614. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
